Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi concluded an official visit to Iran, responding to an invitation from his Iranian counterpart. During his visit, Safadi met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian – a statement by the Foreign Ministry said.

Safadi conveyed a message from His Majesty King Abdullah II to President Pezeshkian concerning regional developments and bilateral relations – the statement added.

Pezeshkian sent his regards to King Abdullah and expressed Iran's commitment to enhancing relations with Jordan at various levels.

The meeting addressed the escalating tensions in the region and the repercussions of the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh.

Jordan condemned the assassination as a grave escalation and violation of international law, similar to its condemnation of the aggression against Beirut as a breach of Lebanese sovereignty and international law.

The discussions, which also included Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri, covered bilateral relations and several regional issues.
